Default What made you start to use Ebid

I know why i originally came to this site, it was actually as a buyer after hearing about the site while reading Ebay's forums back in 2009, as luck would have it i found quite a lot of what i wanted and registered in order to make my purchases.

As a seller i decided to use this site as i could see how things were changing , and bit by bit private and small business are seeing themselves squeezed out on the other site and Amazon is a fairly hard and dictatorial taskmaster too.
I realsied that by selling on Ebid i could make more theoretical multiple sales within the same transaction due to not being forced to offer what is laughably called "free" postage, there were no dsr ratings to see me kicked off and feedback is a 2 way affair.
The fees.....i decided to sell here prior to understanding the fee structure, and initially assumed that it was no less than around 5%., i found enough sales to realise that it was a no brainer for me to upgrade to seller lifetime membership....but what about everyone else?

I was selling my Dad's product on ebay, but finding it very hard to get views as they had 50 million listings.

So I looked for some alternatives and found the top 3, and I joined them all.

Ebid was the last I joined as it had a high entry barrier. (and still does)

But I made some sales right away (through the forums I believe) so I joined up as a lifetime seller plus.

for me it was because it could offer me what I wanted a store front for my listings at a cost that no one else could compete with.

I had enough of the feebay squeeze, corporate greed. Did some research and believe eBid is the place to be. Low fees...similar in listing structure to the bay...mostly friendly sellers...communication with eBid support has always been great.

It gave me another show room to sell from and the rates are real good. The forums chatter is good and I didn't care about the complaints that the items don't sell fast. Don't care! Sometimes slow and steady pay off. If I did what a lot of people suggested, I'd never would have got anything done...

Looked at ebid for quite awhile.

I thought that the traffic did not warrant entering at the lower level as sales were harder to come by.
    BUT!
As a long term investment it was an absolute bargain.
I went straight in as a lifetime seller +.

Now I am not a seller trying to make a living out of this, but as Kreative has proved, it is a viable string to anybody's bow.

The problem is that prospective ebidders still have the ebay mindset <Dinosaurs>
You need to come to grips with selling. Things no longer sell themselves. No matter how desirable or rare.

You have to present your item perfectly; BINs and keywords are critical. It's a brand new online selling world and we have to shape it to what we want!

And yes, I have recouped my outlay and made money, and that's as a casual seller!

I initially joined because my sales stopped on the bay when I made a complaint to Paypal, my items never appeared in the searches, although they did before I needed to complain. (Actually it was'nt a complaint)

I just queried why they had decided to start holding my payments after I had been selling for almost 6 months, I could have understood if it was when I started.

I was building a successful following at "that place" over a couple of years, until the start of their carp changes (you all know about them)

I then joined a now defunct site (2.5 years) started in direct response to the above mentioned carp, by a group of disgruntled former sellers from "that place"

After that folded, I did my research & found Ebid to be the best value alternative, for all the reasons given above.

Just over 2 years later & I still believe that, & I'm sticking around for the long haul.
