There are probably hundreds of photo editors

Each of them does different things.

So people need to say why they like a program and what it does good/easily/quickly for them.

Believe me...if I can do it anyone can
I've come to understand one thing about learning (at least for me)..I take it slow, 1 item at a time with as many repetitions thats needed.
I don't know of anything related to computer's that's simple, unless of course some one else does it.
There are other programs people use, enjoy them and it gets the job done, I'd make certain there are help sections, and if possible forums where I could get help, advice when needed... I need lots....

Equally, when asking for such suggestions, it helps if it is stated what the user requires the application to be able to do.

Have a look at Zoner Photo Studio (free) edition.
It will do just about anything you will ever need and it`s a really nice program, I use the PRO version and have done for years

Sorry I apparently didn't give enough informaition in OP. I was needing a photo editor to prepare photos for posting items on eBid and 2 other sites where I sell. The main thing is cropping as the colors on my newest camera are accurate.

Hope this is helpful to those who have taken an interest in this thread and thanks again to all who have responded, I will continue to try your suggestions.

If all you want to do is crop images, and have a later version of Windows (v7 and beyond I think), there is a built in Snipping Tool. Just view an image file and crop with the snipping tool.

My personal favourite package is Paint Shop Pro - the last JASC version, before Corel bought it and ruined it.

Something like that is overkill for what you want though, which is why I said we really needed to know your requirements.

I do like Irfanview (as suggested by someone else) for less demanding situations though.

I use Gimp for colour editing, using the colour levels settings to get a nice white background. http://www.gimp.org/

I know this is a bit off topic ... but was just looking at Gimp for just that purpose ... how do you actually accomplish that?
