    Thumbs down Royal Mail incompetence

I can hardly believe what has happened.

On Monday I posted an item by 1st class to a buyer.

This evening when I came in I found the letter I had posted to my buyer delivered to me!

The buyer's name and address and un-franked stamp is clearly shown on the front of the envelope.

My name and address on the back of the envelope with the word "from" has been used as the delivery address by Royal Mail.

The letter has gone through the automated Royal Mail system as there are the rows of red lines on the back of the envelope.

But even the postman did not spot the problem when he pushed the envelope through my letter box.

I am left speechless at this incompetence.

At least they didn't frank the stamp and cost you extra postage!

I am grateful that the letter came back to me so that it can be resent to the buyer, who is now going to receive it three days later than they should of.

I've had that happen a few years ago with a parcel. I posted it off to Leamington Spa and the next day the post man was on my doorstep with it. I won't repeat what I said to him but he sheepishly took it away again !

Common occurrence - happened to me on occasions - encouraged by Post Office to strike through my 'Sender' details in pen ......

Yep, had that happen twice to me too.... Can't really make it much clearer on the envelope short of leaving my 'sender' address off

I've had overseas post returned to me and despite having the return address on the back of the envelope the post office have opened the envelope looking for the return address (or seeing if there is anything worth nicking ) good job we include an invoice with the goods
