What is this charity auction,is it every month?
Yes, it runs every month except Dec from the 24-28th. Some items for this month are already listed, if you put ydc* in the search box you can see them.

Here's a link to last month's YDC (your donation counts) with more info -

The nominated charity this month is Canine Partners which was chosen by TropicalTrish - Trish won last month's auction when the black shawl she listed raised over £20. You can list for any charity/good cause and have a lot of fun along the way, as you can see from last month's pimp thread

Do you find many people choose to pay by cheque and postal order ? Can I also ask about cash on collection-if someone wishes to collect from me is this ok...can I just send a revised invoice less the P&P charge and mark as paid when collected?

BTW I think it's a bit of a shame that it is more fixed price now than auction...I enjoy buying and selling on auction personally.
I am of the opinion that its better to give various payments options to the buyers, let them decide which one to use, though paypal is the most popular one.

You can also add your items to the ebid Pinterest boards see link below

Equally, you don't have to offer any payment option that you don't want to.

As a basic Seller account holder only PPPay is integrated into the transaction process. For any other payment method you will have to handle the payment transaction yourself via the payment processor.

Listing using the Platinum listing option (only available to basic Seller account holders) adds integrated checkout for PayPal, Skrill, and Google Checkout (though the latter is soon to cease operations), plus access to most other features normally only available to Seller Plus account holders - basically Seller Plus on a 'pay as you go' basis.

See: http://uk.ebid.net/help_selling.php#50 and onwards, and http://uk.ebid.net/help_selling.php#20
Just added that PPPay to all my listings and noticed views increased alot
