    Default Editing Maximum bids?

I would like to see an option to edit maximum bids.
You may on reflection not want to bid that high.

You may enter the wrong bid. eg £100 instead of £10.

The poll is open for seven days!

    No.
Your bid forms part of your contract. If you don't want to honour that, then don't bid.

Also, your high bid may put other people off from bidding. If you then revise your bid downwards the seller may lose out on someone who may have bid higher than your revised total, but lower than your previous high.

If you can't properly read and understand the listing and think through your bid before entering it, then you shouldn't be bidding.
You should check that you have entered the correct values before bidding.
If you still can't get it right you can contact the seller or eBid Support to see if the bid can be removed.

Others cannot see the maximum bid only the person who placed the bid knows the max bid amount. Potential bidders will only know/see the current bid. A proxy bid will be made on the max bidders behalf if other bids are made.
If a person wants to change their Max bid PRIOR to any other bids being placed it would not have an effect on future bids

I will honour any bid I make.

My maximum bid however is NOT a bid(until made) but an intent to bid.

Maximum bids are not visible to anyone other than the bidder>
So that argument is shot out of the water.

I find this paragraph condescending and offensive!
Many, many people make mistakes in entering bids.

But that is beside the point.

I'm asking for the option to revise a max bid that has not yet been made.

A max bid is 'an intent' not a contract. IMHO

The forums here... are beyond believe. You get what you paid for.. but I digress. Amatuer rings aloud here in many posts.. which is okay and understandable. But you make a bid you live by that bid... erasing the max. bid will eventually bring a problem. Do NOT bid an amount unless you mean it, period. One never knows when a bid will be made(Day-time).
