Happy Veterans Day to all our servicemen and women across the globe, past and present. Thank you for your service, it is greatly appreciated.

I live in a RURAL area and the small town only has a population of 600+ and the school has about 250 in K-12. I helped with a luncheon to honor the veterans. The 1st graders walked the 2 blocks and sang a couple of patriotic songs, the National Honor Society helped serve and younger kids who were "community leaders" passed out drinks. In the afternoon 40 veterans were honored in an all school assembly where members from the high school speech class gave short speeches about what veterans/country mean to them, 9 students sang and a couple of girls played flutes. This was followed by a reception where the goodies had been made by the students.

I am not a veteran but I was real proud of the students and the way they showed respect to the veterans and the way the veterans seemed to be moved by all that was done.
