    Exclamation Non paying buyers

I have sold the same item now for the third time! Each time the item is purchased via BIN, each time the buyer is newly registered on the day of the purchase and each time I have not received payment for the item! After sending a thank you message and an invoice, I have heard nothing from any of these buyers. They are all different people, in different places. Two are US and one was UK customer. I send polite reminders, resend the invoice and finally after a week of failing to have any response I mark the sale as a non paying bidder.

What is going on here? Why do people go through the process of registering an account on Ebid, and using BIN, then simply ignoring the whole transaction? On one case, the buyer cancelled their membership right after the purchase!

I would appreciate any thoughts on this situation.

    Thanks,

That would have to be the worst run of bad luck I've heard in a while!
I guess we can't force people to cough up at gun point, just have to suck it up I'm afraid.
Sure hope it sells for you next time!

Unfortunately, I find it all too common on this site and it seems, without fail, that it is new users signing up. Do they not understand how eBid works or have they found the item cheaper elsewhere, even changed their mind? Whatever the reason it's the lack of communication that bugs me more than the actual non-payment!

You mean to tell me that I'm not the only one that gets these ###(0), non paying bidders! Just like you, they seem to be the same items over and over, (rifle scope or something small $$$). Just hate to give a NPB to a newbie buyer, but what else can one do! Wait till your NPB leaves YOU feedback!
Just have to repost, and hope to sell again!, best of luck.

i do not sell much online, as i do this as a sideline hobby rather than as a serious trader, but even i have had a couple of transactions not go through. It is very annoying when it happens, but you certainly seem to have had more bad luck with it happening 3 times for the same item.
Hopefully it will be ok next time!

I had a series of non paying buyers through August and September, and now this thread is making me think that when I send an invoice I should tell first time buyers what they have to do to pay.

Is there a ready made link for me to include with an invoice?

I know how very frustrating it is when people do not pay when they do a "Buy It Now", and clearly do NOT Buy It Now. The problem is that some people engage in this odd and inconsiderate activity as a form of sport. It really cannot be considered a "Successful Sale" when you are notified by Ebid, if they have not paid. It is such a waste of time for us sellers. Sport bidding is just something I expect and I am extremely surprised when, in rare cases, I actually do get paid. Just hang in there and do not take these things seriously. It is just the nature of the business of selling online.

You can add a note in "My Defaults" that goes out with all your invoices.
