Thread: "New Sellers" on the home page instead of "Hot Sellers"

  1. #1

Default "New Sellers" on the home page instead of "Hot Sellers"

Personally, I would prefer to see "New Sellers" instead of "Hot Sellers" on the home page. I mentioned this in another thread and several posters think it might be worth considering.

I think we all remember how hard it was to get started, with no feedback, no customers, and so much to learn? This would give a boost to the people who need it the most. Perhaps not right away, when they're still making mistakes (as we all did for a while), but selecting sellers who've been here two or three months, and after they have a reasonable number of listings running?

It would be good PR for the site too, indicating that new sellers (and new items) are arriving here.

I prefer the current system of Hot Sellers on the Home Page. Not to help those sellers particularly but it may guide some new buyers to where they can find worthwhile amounts of items for sale. The success of this site is linked to enticing new buyers.

As an aside I think the algorithm for Hot Sellers could be improved. It seems to be done entirely on the number of sales rather than the value of those sales. I think a balance between the value and the number of items would be better.

I would like to see both on the home page. I like the hot sellers showing up, as it confirms that sales can be brisk here.

Well…in my opinion without showing all hard core real numbers and statistics with graphs all other stuff is just ‘’obsolete’’…

If I am for example new potential member and checking out front page, what I going to see?....

Just pictures…hot sellers list without easy to find out what is what for real…
For how much items is sold even after 75 days…
Transferred feedback with very hard to find out or in ‘’timely manner’’ to find out which item…where…and so on and so on….

Is just all ‘’outdated’’ and not following any new trend from which most of internet users looking these days….

P.S. Short stop in here for me after couple days…and nothing really new…
But that not stops me to say: Good night everybody and good sales and good health for everybody….

A better system is deffo required as the hot sellers are almost all stamp, postcard and coin sellers.
