    Question disappearing 'views' ?

I'm listing on ebid for the first time using a basic seller account to keep costs to a minimum. On the advice of other sellers, I'm upgrading the attached photo to make it more visible (using the platinum facility) but once again to keeps costs low I'm only doing this once views of that item reach 5. I've noticed that some of these 'views' counts have now dropped. How and why does this happen ?. I understand the views are telling me that the item has been 'looked at' by a potential buyer so if that's the case how can that figure reduce?

My view counts just dropped within the past couple of days as well. Basically, I don't pay much attention to the view counts ... it seems to me that they have never been very accurate. :-)

Do you mean 7 day from first bid? If so, are you aware that such listings always come last in default search results? That may not be an issue if you do not have much competition from other sellers, but if you are one sardine in a shoal it could impact your sales using that listing style.

If it is any comfort, I have sometimes had listings with a zillion views and no sale, and then another item with one view and a sale!

Yes that the type of listings I mean. I may change the listing style at some point but my main priority is get as many items listed as possible at this stage. It also makes me realise how important these 'views' figures are if my listings are at the bottom of any given search.

Obviously more of the latter would be best! But I have such a large amount of items to put on that I use the 'views' to give me an idea of what sort of item potential buyers are looking for, so I then focus my input on similar items to those supposingly raising the most interest. adding to that that I then spend 3p to add a more visible photograph for items that have received 5 'views' or more. The fact these indicators are, I'm being told, unreliable, seems to make them of no value when trying to determine my selling policies so WHAT should I use to help me decide what's best to list?

    Question Re: disappearing 'views' ?

Am posting here as I cannot navigate to post anywhere else! My eBid appears right up the creek - displays only in text mode, so where is the html view of pages? I have made no changes to my settings here or on my computer. I cannot now edit, change, update or save any listings, let alone add new ones. Be most grateful if someone could somehow let me know what I can do to restore eBid to be fully functional and display as per normal. Thank you.

Problem is solved - apparently my browser Firefox 25 is not compatible with eBid site. Shame, as I prefere Firefox to Internet Explorer, but my IE8 displays the website pages correctly.
