Thread: Question regarding Knives (But not a Knife per se)

  1. #1

Default Question regarding Knives (But not a Knife per se)

We sell power tool repair parts among other things - As you know, some power tools fall into the category of planers and jointers.

Now, the correct terminology that many of our buyers *search for* on these includes the term "Knife" or "Knives" referring to the long edged blades used in Planers, etc. (And even some customers we have that actually refer to LAWNMOWER BLADES as "knives" )

Now, I know these are not on the banned list (far as I know) as they are technically cutting blades for power tools. However, my question comes down to - were I to list an item with the keyword "knives" in the title (I.E. AC8630 Knife Set Ridgid Ryobi Planers , for example or "Bed Knife" or "Planer Knives" ) will that result in the listing getting removed?

Just curious - The thought happened to come to mind while reading other forums regarding knives (As in ritual knives, etc.)

And, if that is the case, as I suspect (robot keys on word "knife" or "Knives") would there be any work-around on that while still getting my titles set to what buyers for those products actually search for? (Which, in a nutshell is "Planer Knives" or "Planer Knife" - more common because that is what the manufacturer calls them in the parts book!)

What Old said. IMHO your 'knives' don't sound at all like any banned items, but I'd check with support before listing just to save time and energy.

Do let us know what support says about this.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

It's more likely a banned Word than a banned item!

Not a banned word, it is tho a BAND word. the Young knives, English indie/rock band, listing's with their name in the title are allowed on ebid.

Well, if that is the case, then I would suspect the question has been answered.

I've had the same issue with filling knives.

Not a knife as such just a term that is used to describe an item.
