Just talking to someone, who remembers getting tickets, for a gig for 50 pence.
Which made me wonder what you could buy today for that, no much I think.

The biggest 'entertainment' bargain of all: Access to the car boot!
I just bought a load of stuff yesterday that I will be selling at the School Christmas fair at 50p. Lots of England flags, inflatable hammers, fridge magnets and tattoo kits as well as kids socks. If it does not sell Friday it will be on here with the England stuff in packs ready for the World Cup next year. Would advertise the England stuff to cricket supporters but after the start they made nooses might be a better seller.

I can remember when you could buy 8 pints of beer for £1.
And frequently did.
To use the public loo at The Lake District cost 40p last summer.
