    It is odd that there was no obvious mechanical failure. I wonder why helicopters don't have 'black boxes'.

    Most helicopters do carry a black box, however these types of helicopters are not equipped with such equipment.

    I've no idea, however with regards to this accident I can only concur on what may have happened and that could be a blockage in the fuel line between the engines and drive shaft which may have caused the engines to splutter or cough causing the blades to stop working, which would then give the pilot chance to bring the helicopter down safely, however as we dont know where abouts the blades had stopped working then it may be possible the pilot had tried to get back to base and failed.

    My condolences go out to those who were killed and injured in this accident and to their families, lets hope some news comes out sooner rather than later.
