In case any are unaware of it this may be of use - when you <repost> an unsold item and don't <delete> the original the system increments the reposts-count on the original - eg. If it was on 10 it will now say 11 etc,. So it's quite easy to check if you've already relisted it.

As far as I know, I hit delete and relist together in these cases. But the closed items did not delete properly. I double checked by back clicking through the process.

As I relist, I also update my spreadsheet of my numbers of closed and active listing total numbers in an effort to keep things straight, which is a challenge as listing numbers increase.

I changed my stores around a bit (also donated some of my items to charity) and I still have around 500 in the closed bin to sort through and revise links and notices in the description fields.

But I've been wrong before. Maybe I messed up. As I said, I just wanted to alert other sellers. If it happens again I will take the time to report through the glitch channels.

And thank you to Her Majesty for spotting my duplicate (or one of my duplicates?)

Here we go again! Last time this happened I wasn't believed by support until items were relisted while I was in Canada & not relisting at all!

    Duplicates are a nightmare when:

Despite my best efforts, a spreadsheet which highlights duplicates before they are listed, they still happen. Mostly this is when I select which items to relist/delete rather than select all 50 on a page.

    An example. Just now.

I relisted this auction. As at this point in time, the listing is still showing up in my closed file even though it reposted and I revised it. I won't manually delete it and I'll see if the delete comes through on a delay or if the delete doesn't go through at all.
    I haven't opened a ticket yet.

And just a minute ago that auction was deleted from my closed, so I guess the situation did right itself on its own.

Earlier today my numbers of listings running was out by one, but then that sorted itself as well.

There is a variable delay on the system catching up with deletions.

I guess there is a cron scheduler to run a deletions catch up every so many minutes

    Hi Bill, Thanks.

It does confuse me when the numbers are out. A person wonders if they've made a mistake somewhere.

One mistake that I've been guilty of is accidentally hitting the edit button instead of the list similar button and then scratching my head about why my total listings are out. So I try to be very careful about tracking my numbers of listings running and closed.

So I guess that this isn't a glitch, just a delay. It is something for people to be aware of though.
