Default No email address for dump and run sellers

I regret publicizing negative experiences on eBid but I've reached my limit of tolerance. Within the last two weeks, I have tried to buy items from two entities that list here, and have had absolutely no sign of response from them. I have used the After Auction Log to ask at least three times for an invoice from both of them.

To me, an even bigger problem with these attempts at purchase is that neither seller provided an email address to which I could write them directly, as it appears they don't read their eBid After Auction Log messages. I thought all eBid users were required to provide certain contact information including a valid email address.

I have already been in communication with eBid support. I went along with their advice to be patient. That time has passed.

Christmas is approaching. I have wasted time that I could have spent shopping elsewhere for small gifts. This mini-rash of nonsellers is as peeving to me as a crop of nonpaying buyers would be. It stretches my patience, and I've been a longtime eBid user. Think how it impresses newcomers.

What a pain. In fairness to eBid, tho, just because someone has an email address doesn't mean that they use it anymore, or that they even read them, let alone have the courtesy to respond to them.

Contact details for both parties are only given after a purchase has been made. Before that any message that is sent via the sale link is transmitted to the registered e-mail address.

We are back to the dangers of Run until Sold.

Absent sellers give Ebid a bad name.

I find it all rather tragic..
It all comes down to common decency, or lack of it.
Ok, so someone may become bored with ebid as a seller and go off in search of better sales, but failing to remove their listings is just sad and really irritating if you are a potential buyer.
I am sorry to hear of your experiences..

Sorry you had these experiences, definitely frustrating to be sure!

I've never understood why sellers list and buyers buy if they don't intend to sell or pay for the items in question. Maybe there's a reason, but my semi-addled brain can't comprehend this, at least at the present time.

Re: RUS, I may be in the minority here, but the majority of my items are RUS and I'm here on a daily basis to check on sales and usually visit the forums as well. Please don't imagine all RUS sellers are dump and run, as it's just not the case with those of us who are responsible sellers.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I too bought something 10 days ago paid immediately as the seller had logged on recently and no answer or item. I am about to see if direct contact through their email might work. I accept this as part and parcel of any online transaction as even sales from the river have never arrived.
I also bought an item on the 2nd which took 9 days to get here

    Have to agree there!

Was that the sending date or the date of purchase? I ask because the post does seem slow at the moment.

A long this line can someone advise please:

bought a book on 21st Nov. Emailed seller to send an invoice so that I knew he is still selling (his last sold item was in Aug). Heard nothing from him, so presumed he wasnt selling even though listed. On 26 December he cancelled purchase with a 'non-payment'. Does this non-payment go against me? Cheers. Willo.
