Default What's in the box? :)

A little old lady went to the grocery store to buy cat food. She picked up four cans and took them to the checkout counter.

The girl at the cash register said "I'm sorry, ma'am, but we can't sell you cat food without proof that you have a cat. A lot of old people buy cat food to eat and the management wants proof that you are buying the cat food for your cat."

The little old lady went home, picked up her cat and brought it back to the store.

They sold her the cat food.

The next day she tried to buy two cans of dog food.

Again the cashier said "I'm sorry, ma'am, but we can't sell you dog food without proof that you have a dog. A lot of old people buy dog food to eat and the management wants proof that you are buying the dog food for your dog."

So she went home and brought in her dog.

She then was able to buy the dog food.

The next day she brought in a box with a hole in the lid.The little old lady asked the cashier to stick her finger in the hole.

The cashier said "no, you might have a snake in there."

The little old lady assured her that there was nothing in the box that would harm her.So the cashier put her finger in the box and quickly pulled it out.

She said to the little old lady,"that smells like sh*t."

The little old lady said,"it is. I want to buy three rolls of toilet paper."

    Don't mess with old people!

    Serves her right!

In our state there is no tax on livestock and farm supplies. I went to get a shut-off valve for a pond and they wanted to charge the tax, when I said it was for a farm pond she said I could use it for turning water off in the city. I had to explain in a rather loud voice that we didn't live in the city. We buy enough at that farm supply store that she knew we were in the country. When I got vaccine for cattle I had to argue what I was using it for because they said it could be used for pet deer. Deer are pests on the farm and I sure couldn't catch one to give it a shot! The same goes for buying calf milk replacer.

    good one, sues!!

And youmeus..............don't some people just take the cake!! You could go home and vaccinate your dog with the cattle vaccine.....or a fencepost. Wouldn't do either much good, but unless the vendor is going to go help you vaccinate, they just should exercise reasonable care (not sell it to kids), and let you get on with it. geez louise.

Our tax laws are similarly daft - food for working dogs carries no VAT (guess who has dogs who live on working food?). Food for rabbits has no VAT because you might be farming the rabbits but Guinea pigs, which are eaten in Peru but not here, have to eat taxable food.

    LOL Your Majesty!

Yes, I am quite the older lady these days and proud of it. I'm practicing my Maxine and getting pretty good at it, if I do say so myself.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

I have 8 grands and am close to all of them. One of the GD's was here and asked if I had an ugly Christmas sweater she could have, we went to look and she pulled one out and I asked if that was what she had in mind and she said "It sure is ugly but not Christmasy". I made a comment about not wearing it anymore and she said "it's alright grandma, at your age it will be okay". Then we had a good laugh! Now that is the way to make someone feel like and OLD LADY!
