So if it is a yes vote, technically Scotland would become a republic.
Who gets Berwick and who gets Gordon Brown?
Why would we be a republic?
Queen Elizabeth is already Queen of Scotland and will continue to be Queen of Scotland unless there is an intentional decision for Scotland to become a republic. That intention does not seem to be on the table at present.
Regarding Berwick, England could sell it back to Scotland to help balance the Government finances when England no longer has the Scottish oil and gas tax money. There is already precedence for this - Richard I of England sold Berwick to William I of Scotland to finance his crusading activity.
The convoy from Westminster heading up to Scotland tomorrow is most likely to push a lot of the undecideds over to the Yes camp. Alex Salmond must be so happy.
think it will be neck and neck on sep18th
It's only the 1707 Acts of Union that we want out of. We're quite happy to keep the 1603 Union of the Crowns.
Even though the intention of James 6th was to be the Kig of Great Britain when he took over the English throne, it never happened. There remained the two crowns on one head until 1707. So there no reason why the current Queen couldn't be Queen of Scotland.
Can't you send Gordon Brown to Wales or something.
