Blimey. Someone got out of bed on the wrong side this morning.
Impossible; there is a brick wall abutting one side of the bed.

Focussing on the fact that I said "rest of the world"...
I 'focused' on that because that was the part of your post that was at best an exaggeration and at worst a deliberate distortion of the facts.

Fairy nuff, but no one reading what I wrote would really think that the entire world had been polled on who wiped the floor with who. Or at least I hope they wouldn't. And if they did then I hope they're not allowed to vote.

I'll call it creative license and move on.

The BBC no longer is a place where balanced news reporting can be found.

For almost of my life, I have always watched the BBC news on the television. It was as much a part of my life as having three meals each day and the daily work routines.

But now the BBC does not even try to examine all sides to an issue so I no longer watch the BBC news. There is no purpose to watch it when there is better quality news reporting to be found elsewhere.

Last night’s debate covered old ground and old arguments yet again and there was not much new in it. For me, Alex Salmond won hands down. The No Campaign still seems to be playing the doom and gloom card should Scotland leave the Union and still is not coming up with constructive proposals about how the future political system can enhance the lives of Scots and give them more control over their country when it wants not to go in the same direction as England. Alistair Darling did not do himself any favours when he kept banging on about changing levels of tax revenues from oil. Alex Salmond’s response about putting surplus cash into a Reserve Fund when the oil price is high and taking from the Reserve Fund when oil tax revenues are down is eminently sensible and something that a former Chancellor of the Exchequer should have been able to understand. One thing that comes across loud and clear on the Yes Campaign side is positive energy to put into making a better future for Scotland and the commitment to do that, yet this is almost completely missing from the No Campaign.

Irrespective of the outcome of the Referendum, as I have posted before, the widespread nature of the debate in Scotland has been good for politics and to get people thinking and talking. And has correctly been pointed out, the debate is more than the SNP – although as I have posted before, getting this very serious and meaningful debate going is to the credit of Alex Salmond and the SNP.

As regards independence Nigel Farage and UKIP are doing the same for England.

Have I missed something? Are UKIP planning on having England be independent from the UK?

They may need one to get back into England. Plus, if Scotland does join the EU you will need one both ways as they will have to enforce their border as part of the Schengen Area. Scots may need one as the UK will likely set up border checks due to the predicted disparity in immigration policies. Scotland will need to negotiate to join the Common Travel Area (which would be at odds with EU membership - even more so if the UK exits).

Like so many SNP promises this one is based on what the SNP wants to happen without regard for how it affects anyone else or their ability to deliver on their promise. Just another part of their (bag)pipedream.

You can be in the EU without being part of the Schengen Area like Norway and Switzerland

In reality anyone saying you will need a passport is just scaremongering
