Thank you Alex, you did us proud. Even though we lost the referendum, you've helped open the eyes of the people of our country which can only be a positive thing going forward. Yes and No voters will pull together in demanding that Westminster deliver on their promises, and in punishing the ones who fail. People who were lost to politics oin their country are now awake. You've also opened the eyes of our youth, which will serve to strengthen the power of our democracy. You brought free education back to Scotland and fought every corner for Scotland all your career. You've executed your office as a true and loyal servant of the people. Thank You!

Well I, for one, am hugely relieved it's all over.
My nightmare was that we English would have to find someone else to oppress.

Yes, I know we still have the Welsh, and N.Irish, but they are not nearly as much fun.

The Scots can go on blaming us for everything their own government and the EU does, as we can watch as they transform themselves into the Socialist People's Utopia.

One thing that does intrigue me: If England is so bad, why do so many Scots move here?

It is not that England is bad it is just that Parliamentary decisions all seem to be made on the premise we are all like the Home Counties with the jobs and money they have

Hi all, read a piece about gorden brown this morning explaining about the timetable for reform. in the comments below the article was a well written piece explaining how the barnet formula was set up and how it is worked out......it was quite a long piece, but it states how the amounts are distributed. at the moment they are....England 8529, Scotland 10152 wales 9709 northern Ireland 10876...........this is per capita. I expect Scotland will want more. btw I wanted a yes vote, but I think there will be riots in England if they get any!!!!

Interesting that much is made of how Scotland does better than England out of the Barnett formula, but Northern Ireland does the best yet contributes the least to the UK economy - there seems to be no mention of that though.

Still a lot of fuss over the Barnett formula. Westminster, in a panic, promised Scotland they would retain it. Now the wider voice is objecting to that.

The answer? Get Mr. Barnett to update his formula to make it work. I doubt that E=mc² was Mr. Einstein's first stab at getting his formula right.

That way no promises broken and "Everybody Happy!!!".
