Default Some sellers do 'ave em

    Email received two days ago:

Q: Do you still have the aran pattern? I've been searching for years for this but you don't sell to Australia.

A: Sorry, I no longer have this pattern.

Q: Could you tell me where I can buy one?

Can she not Google? Did she expect me to trawl the wool shops in UK for her????

    Email received today:

Q: Could you get in touch with the buyer and ask if they will photocopy the pattern for me? They can send it to you and I will pay you for it.

A: Sorry, patterns are under copywrite and I do not sell copies myself so couldn't possibly ask the buyer to do so.

    Cheek???? I think so.

Fantastic, you could not make this sort of thing up.
I love the way that some people are a constant source of humour/bemusement.
I love my inbox in the morning. There is usually one of those sort of things waiting for me.
I sell military record books and the amount of times I get; "can you just check and see if my Uncle Charlie was at Mons for me" or the like.
I think they are under the impression I am an online reference resource..

Kazeran, I would usually be amused, but I have had more than my fair share of dopes lately: one leaving a 'neutral' because they thought they were getting a scarf instead of the knitting pattern; another wanting to cancel the transaction because she thought she was getting a dog's coat - not the knitting pattern for a toy dog which was wearing a coat.

I think I am being stalked

We are, of course, talking about the other side here - my ebid buyers have been no trouble at all - YET!!!!

I just had a buyer enquiring about 100 1st Class Large Letter stamps. His question 'I want 100 large stamps. for use on my sales on ebay. could we make a deal if I buy bulk load of 100. Will even send you payment through tt instead of paypal because they will charge you.'.

My price was £84.74 with shipping and I said I could do for £80. reply was:

'Sorry its works out 80p for a stamp. just a saving of 10 pound. So its not a huge saving so I will pass'.

Not sure about anyone else but saving £10 in a couple of minutes seems a pretty good return on your time. Ah well, at least they are not being used to ship eBay items.

    I can beat that. A buyer left me a neutral because;
"The item looks smaller than in the photograph!"

Now the pic was definitely smaller than the item. (on my screen anyway.)

I replied that "All measurements were in the description" and that I didn't understand the feedback!

I am inclined to agree. I think it is definitely on the increase.
I have had someone offer me less than 50% on a solid silver item I was/am selling when I politely refused they said "what? you have got to be kidding? that's a massive profit."
I think they were under the impression that I had found the item in a bin somewhere or behind the TV. The concept of me first purchasing the item at a price to re-sell was beyond their understanding.
Not to mention the obvious fact that they had no idea how much I had paid for it in the first place.
That aside, I have also had may more "customers" than usual asking me questions that are already answered in my description?

That could be because of the description being too far down the page, well below the photo.
This is a shortcoming of the site that needs reviewing.

Of course, the customer not bothering to find and read a description doesn't help
