Search by distance, 10 miles please?

It's good that UK buyers can search by distance, a feature we didn't have in the early ebid years. It has the potential to make selling large used items such as furniture viable.

However, the shortest distance is 25 miles. Could we have 10 miles as well please? It's evidently doable (other sites manage it) and it makes a big difference. Indeed, if 5 miles is possible, even better, but I don't know how good the location/postcode databases are.

10 miles should be doable.

I would also like a location field, such as London. I have a Freedom Pass so I can travel anywhere in Greater London free to pick up Ebay Collect. Would love the same on Ebid.

Going by the requests by the above 2 persons I would agree it is a good idea to have along the lines something like this:

Item: [enter search item] in [Enter Location] within [x] miles

x = number of miles

When I used to use this on eBay, I realised that the distance was calculated as the crow flies.
I often used to get recommendations in Kent, about 100 miles away by road, after selecting 25 miles..

Maybe you forgot to tick the checkbox "I am not a crow"! Straight line would be really useful if you have a helicopter!

Seriously though, ebay has a rather optimistic view of distance. Just put in a somewhat shorter distance than you really want. You can go down to 10 miles there.

The PO has max dimensions on its parcels. If you're looking to buy a car, a wardrobe, a trailer, or a ton of logs you'll find them even more uncooperative than usual.
