Thread: Bulk Edits

  1. #1

    Default Bulk Edits

Does anybody know how to add more shipping options to existing listings using the bulk edit? Or do I have to manually add new options to each listing individually? I sure hope it is not the latter. I have searched and searched and have not seen the option to do so.

Check out My Shipping in My Defaults for regular use.

I use the Ebidloader spreadsheet for bulk edits. I find it easier to do bulk changes in Excel.

Tick the box on the left and use the + sign to add more options.

I have tried that, but you have to add a weight. All my weights are different.

Bill, I would have to end all my listings, then restart. I have them all staggered right now and would like to keep it that way. It takes alot of work to keep it going like that.

If all your items have different weights and dimensions then the easiest way would be to export all your listings, do a search and replace in the shipping fields to remove/add different methods then bulk upload your data with an "o" as the action to overwrite your current listings.

    Thank you for responding.

When you say export, is that to eBid Ninja Lister? I have yet to use that and looking for clarification.

Thank you for the help. I have been very puzzled these last few days.

When you export your listings the resulting file can be
    1) Imported into NL
    or
    2) Opened in a text editor or a spreadsheet program (eg. Excel)

Most people will use a spreadsheet program that will set out all your data in columns.

Download the eBid Spreadsheet for full instructions on each column. Shipping is the most complicated especially for the US as there is both Flat-Rate and Calculated shipping but your exported file will have the basic bones behind the shipping layout.

Personally I like to use a text editor as it gives much more access for Seach and Replacing.

If you want to post the domestic shipping data for one of your listings here I'll go thru it with you and tell you how you can add more shipping methods to it.

I just read what you wrote in another thread.

I have various size packages for each item I sell and do not know the dimensions before I actually package the product for shipment.
So what you are saying is I have to pull each product out and guess what size package I will be using to ship that item, before I can add the priority mail option to the listing.

Getting a little overwhelmed with the thought of going through all my items.

If you use 03 (Priority Mail) yes. USPS require it but not if you use a fixed size Priority Mail container.

I just edited one listing and added priority mail.
It did not ask me for dimensions and the listing seems fine. Listing ID# 122936818.
Why could I not do that in the spreadsheet bulk edit?
