Teddy bears & cuddly friends - do you still have one?

Some say you're never too old to have a special, furry friend. Others say that childish toys should be left behind.

What do you say?

Do you still have a special furry friend?
Should people have to give up their teddies when they grow older?
Is there any harm in having a cherished memory from childhood (or even older?)
Or is it unhealthy to keep such childish things around when we are supposed to be adults?

We have loads, the wife keeps buying them! Regressing back she says!
Some are quite old, the latest ones are chip and dale, in fact most seem to be of disney origin!

Some have been bought recently for the grandkids in particular the youngest (9 1/2 months old now)

Range from traditional teddys, golli's, koalas, mickey and minnie etc etc

I have my teddie bear, from when I was little(r), safely vacationing in a storage unit at the moment. He is threadbear in places, and smoothly furred in others. His plastic snout has teethmarks from when I felt the urge to chew, I guess. He safely guards lots of secrets and memories. Some friends are worth keeping, and I look forward to putting him back to his proper job one of these days. You are never too old or young for comfort.

Well I still got my teddy bears from when I was 1, I told them all my secrets. They say a best friend will hold on to your secrets even after you've gone, least I know my darkest secrets will never get told to anyone by my teddy

Still have all my childhood pals as well. If it says anything about me, IMHO it says I'm a good friend who doesn't ditch her old buddies, (at least not until the dog gets hold of them).

LOL! Just joking. The only toys Winston gets to play with are his own, though he has torn a decent sized hole in his squeaky kitty.

i collect beanie babies and tesco Emily dolls and have cabinets of them on show and hundreds in bags in the loft as i have nowhere else to put them

I also love Teddy bears. I have the first one I was given when I was 3. He is threadbear and was spilling some of the wood shavings he is filled with, so I knitted him a suit and sewed him into it. I am sure I had him as my avatar a while back (well,
meebo1's actually) since then I have acquired lots of others - some rescued, some made by myself. I recently noticed that I have still 2 very large boxes unopened since we moved, so maybe it's time I do something about that
