Our next stop was a Broadway show. We took in Broadway’s longest running musical … Phantom of the Opera.



For over 25 years, PHANTOM has been the Broadway musical all others are measured against. The timeless story, the unforgettable score, an undeniable obsession that could never die. I'll be singing the songs for a long time to come.

After the show, we wandered around a bit more and found ourselves in front of the most famous store there is. Every cab driver, every New Yorker, every visitor knows where to find Tiffany & Co. This is the marvelous place where dreams come true.



Of course, it was not time for breakfast and we didn't see Audrey, but we did stop for a little snack.



Having recently returned from the self proclaimed hot dog capitol of the world … Chicago … I thought it was only fair to do a little comparison eating! Who knew there could be such a difference.

A Chicago-style hot dog is a firm, all-beef Vienna Beef frankfurter on a poppy seed bun. The hot dog is topped with yellow mustard, chopped white onions, bright green sweet pickle relish, a dill pickle spear, tomato slices, pickled sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt. The complete assembly of a Chicago hot dog is said to be "dragged through the garden" due to the many toppings.

The canonical recipe does not include ketchup, and there is a widely shared, strong opinion among many Chicagoans and aficionados that ketchup is unacceptable. A number of Chicago hot dog vendors do not offer ketchup as a condiment.

On the other hand a New York-style hot dog is a Sabrett beef frankfurter. It is not so firm. There are no poppy seeds on the bun. And the traditional "onion sauce" has a ketchup base. Needless to say, Chicago won this taste test hands down.

Off to get a little rest and then on to the next stop.

Our next stop - Chelsea Piers, the original destination of RMS Titanic, before it made the "unscheduled stop" at the iceberg.

Join me aboard Spirit of New York for a fun mix of dining, dancing, entertainment and skyline views as we cruise the Hudson River.

Between the endless buffet and non-stop entertainment, I didn't take very many pictures during the cruise, but I knew I couldn't leave New York without pictures of these 2 iconic sites:

1. The Statue of Liberty:



Which was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924. Employees of the National Park Service have been caring for the colossal copper statue since 1933. Standing proud at 305 feet (93 meters) tall, she sure makes those people standing at her base seem small.

And 2. The Brooklyn Bridge:



One of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, which is where we turned around to start back to our starting point.

Loving this! Really wonderful pictures............love the one of Miss Ebid in front of the hotdog stand! mmmmmmmm and it makes me miss Chicago hotdogs. Love the Statue of Liberty shot, as well as the others! What an amazing tour guide you are, hurry!! I'm sure Miss Ebid will treasure the memories!

We have had a few great days, but there has been so much rain it's tough to get out and about.
