A site needs a variety of items. I believe this is what Julie has stated. If folks feel that is negative then I have no idea how to respond.
I don't understand why folks always bring ebay into a thread. eBid is not ebay why keep comparing?
If you want to sell "collectibles" then sell them. If you have the ability to list thousands of items (no matter) what they are, then go ahead and list them.
If you have only one item to list then list it!
Why folks keep knocking sellers because they only have a few items is one of the biggest turn offs here, so please knock it off.
If you're a lifetime seller you paid to list here. One item or thousands you have paid.
Someone brought in by a Google keyword search does in fact help other sellers so I'm all for listing more items with different keywords. Only problem here is when the folks come here, they don't find what they are looking for! We don't have it! That is where the variety comes in handy.

Time to get off the pedestals and realize what this site should/could be.
People can only list what they have or what they are prepared to invest capital in. Yes, it would be nice to see other categories filled up. No one is disputing that, from what I can tell. I'm certainly not. I've got three orders of items coming from other sites. I would rather have purchased on eBid, but there was either none available or the seller's prices were so much higher that I couldn't afford to buy here. And I mean unreasonably high.

It's the snide remarks that have been going on for a long time about the "low cost collectible sellers" that I've taken exception to. Every time a listing for any kind of item brings in a newcomer to eBid, then any seller here can potentially benefit because a new buyer has signed up.

I don't care how many items a seller lists. That's their business. What I list and how many listings I have is my business.

what i find odd is people like you with very few listings telling every one else what they should do or not do and now what they should say,
this site would be a lot better if people like you started to list items

This is just my opinion & i know some will say i dont have anything listed here & that is true, i have listed here before & never made a sell.
I see all the time people saying you have to have 1000's of listings to improve your chance of a sale here on eBid & that you have to do your own advertising. While on the darkside i listed 2 items a couple of days ago giving me a total of 3 items & sold 1 today.
Before anyone says, but you pay higher fees there.
That is true, but then again I don't have to wait forever & hope to get a sale. Also you are expected to sell items here a lot cheaper then over there so your profit is not much bigger then selling there.

The whole point of getting away from the darkside is to make more money, not to sell & make the same or less. I know some will say, but you will make a 2 to 3 percent more profit selling here. But when you factor in the time you have to spend promoting your store & time spent promoting on social media sites, you don't really make that 2 to 3 percent profit as time is money.

A lot of people ask as to why people list items here at the same or higher price then on the darkside, that is because the time they have to invest promoting themselves & the time it takes to make a sale affects their bottom line.

With all that being said, I am working on some listings for eBid & the darkside. I will get them up over the next couple of weeks & see how things go for both sites.

All points are valid, and everyone has the right to express them.

As for Sid's remark, Adruml, like many others, sells very specialised items. I can't imagine for one minute that he has thousands stashed in his cellar.

So, please folks, do stop criticising those of us who care about eBid as much as you do, but lack the stock or motivation to list.

When eBid becomes more pro-active in 'getting themselves out there' then maybe you will see the increase you desire.

I don't know why people get personal when they comment on my comments.

    I have NEVER attacked anyone.

My point is that if somehow ebid had more listings of say smart phones or or drum sets, or cars, or fashion or toys, or hard drives or high priced antiques or high priced stamps or printer toner etc etc etc, then ebdi's income would be much higher than it is now.

And I have bought from ebid sellers. (even some stamps!)
But being here in NZ it does not make sense to pay huger postage.

PS I can see this thread disappearing soon,

I dont believe me or MPS have ever asked for a increase or desired one,

more pro active getting them selves out there,

i dont think you have any idea of what you are talking about, ebid are more geared to advertising products via google and social media , which is exactly what they do ie items already on the site, these items are findable searchable by the above means, its then down to sellers to make these items attractive to buy, not ebid.

advertising the site rather than products already on the site would do more damage than good, have you really thought out the implications of driving the traffic to a site were theres a good chance a potential buyer would not find what there looking for,

ebid do a very good job of advertising what sellers already list, people with little or no listings advocating ebid advertising the site would clearly not gain anything, so why do they ask for some thing that would not benefit them nor the site,

if ebid want to start any advertising campaign aimed at the site in general then its down to all sellers to increase listings , give ebid a very good reason to advertise the site, increase stock, these people with very little listings or no listings banging on about the same theory of what every one else should be doing , clearly have no realisation of what a selling platform is, self promotion via products,
