Okay. I am very sorry but I am not understanding. Are you expecting people to compete with the biggest online sales company in the world? I find this truly hard to believe! No one should be able to push....bully....or chastise people for the prices the have on their items because you do not know what the person has in the item. Isn't the goal to make money? I have listings on here where I would actually LOSE money but still can not get a sale!!! We need buyers not people worrying about prices!!!!

The point is that some sellers have the same item for sale in different places and asking more here (in spite of lower / no fees) than elsewhere. Nobody is telling you how much to sell your items for

Wow - so,many people reporting over priced items on ebid.

May be it is because it can cost virtually nothing to list on ebid so some sellers can just take a chance and if some mug buys their item then they have made a killing.

I'm afraid the low barrier to listing is the problem. People list and walk away and don't really worry whether they are competitive or not. They can do this because listings are free - shame, because that is the reason I can have 3000+ listings, making it more likely that I will get a sale.

Are the items coming from China really a bargain?

The workers have terrible living and working conditions, and some are political prisoners, so the items are not a bargain to them.
And the quality is very low.

The situation at eBay is a good reason why eBid should not go down this route.

There are also plenty of overpriced auctions elsewhere. The difference there is that there's often also the same item in another auction from another seller at a realistic price. Doubtless if eBid were the same size it would be true here.

And if you're looking at books, sometimes Amazon's 2nd hand prices crack me up. Several sellers at just a few quid, then some weird ones at 40/50 or more.

Now that's a good post. Something to think about seriously.

I'm looking on TOS for blatently UNDER PRICED items for resale.

And I'm finding and winning them!

When stuff is selling for £20+ and you can pick it up for 0.99P + postage.
Then it's smart to buy it, list it with the best quality pics and description you can!

There are lots of people out there who think they are still getting a bargain at £20 for something that cost the seller 99p plus postage (say £3.70 which equals 2nd class signed for under 1kg)

You can't charge £20 quid for carp!

But you can buy quality for 99p!

You are correct, this is not just an eBid problem. I'm currently adding a bunch of early Beanie Babies, using both eBid and eBay as pricing guides because I have no idea what they're worth. One that I added yesterday was not listed here, there are about a dozen on eBay, and the prices ranged from $50 to $3,000!!!! No, I'm not kidding. I listed mine at $49.99. We'll see what happens.

I've found that kind of range for several of them.
