Thread: U.S. eBid is DOWN!!!

  1. #1

    Default U.S. eBid is DOWN!!!

This is referred to in another post, I want to get support's attention specifically for this issue.

I have sent several emails over the past few days and they say no one else has reported it. I can get into ebid.net and uk.ebid.net and the forums. I cannot get into us.ebid.net with either IE or FireFox. My daughter cannot get into it using Chrome. We have different interneet providers, so that's not the issue. The messages vary depending on the browser.

I did screen prints and attached them to the email I just sent.

The last time support responded they wanted me to use something called screencast-o-matic, but I can't get it to work. Has anyone else used this? Is there a tutorial available?

Also, will someone else try right now? us.ebid.net

Perhaps this error is only occurring in California.

No problem at all here. PC Windows 7 with IE. I also logged on via cell phone, no problem either.

Not showing down from here. Could be a problem in the route you and your daughter are being directed through. Even using different ISPs you could be routing through a common point with a problem.

    Have you tried running Traceroute?

Maybe it is a West Coast problem.

I just tried IE again, get the same message every time.

The webpage cannot be found HTTP 404 standard error.

Tried Firefox again. Get this every time. The Hostid changes each time.

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.
<Error><Code>NoSuchBucket</Code><Message>The specified bucket does not exist</Message><BucketName>us.ebid.net</BucketName><RequestId>8EC16991F073A8C4</RequestId><HostId>RQSmFhnFqtIALzK/awz2OJBRI8aQECHTayjhlAfalQj7s72W2pdBNgzgKOhY4KcV</HostId></Error>

I'm not going to call my daughter again. She gets a different error message on Chrome.

Can anyone tell me how to use screencast-o-matic? Apparently support isn't going to help until I figure out how to get a screenprint (or whatever it produces) using that tool.

I've never used Traceroute. Looked it up, I guess I can give it a try, but I'll probably need help interpreting the response. Support has not responded to my email (not even the automated acknowledgement). Maybe they're tired of my nagging.

    Some help here: http://www.mediacollege.com/internet...raceroute.html

Basically, it should run until it lands at the eBid server. If it gets stuck somewhere then that is where the problem lies.

OK, Traceroute ran and here's the result.

It's timing out. And I have no idea what to do. I'm going to call my ISP and see what they have to say.
