If you are listing for 4 days * 10 that is a 40 day run (astounded at my maths prowess?).

The simplest solution to keep them all running is to run Bulk Edit on all your listings once a month and bump the AutoRepost count back to 10. That way the count would never reach 0 and listings close.

An additional benefit, which might be useful to you, is the listing ID numbers and links to the listings would not change - as they would if they were allowed to close and then be reposted.

P.S. Always best to Export your listings as a backup before running Bulk Edit just in case it or you screws up.

    Hi astral, Good tip,

Does takes a long time though (for over 10,000 listings) so I tend to do that a few categories at a time or at night when I think of it and I am not using the computer.

It's all good though - Haven't exported my listing for a while - must get to that soon. Currently got about 200 items selling so will wait till those are finished. My Priority is to try to keep listing, listing, listing and when busy the maintenance is on the back burner.

    Cheers
    Steve.

    Hey astral,

Your last post encouraged me to do all the Maintenance jobs that you mentioned: (Sitting in front of the TV :-))

    - To back up all items took no time at all really (seconds - not minutes)

    - To do the bulk edit thing for over 11,000 items took just over 30 minutes - Really not too bad for 3 different categories.

Thanks again for the tip and the prompting.

    Steve.

I don't know whether I am an Ebid Stamp success story, but I am listed as the second biggest stamp seller on Ebid.

Steady stream of sales gives me some extra cash.

However with view to downsizing ready for moving into retirement accommodation in the future I recognize I will need to give up Ebid, possibly next year.

If there is a way to sell off my Ebid stockbooks of 35000 stamps with the spreadsheet of listings, and many kilos of unlisted stamps I would want to do it as an auction on Ebid. Need to check it would not break any rules; enormous postage costs.

Bill, maybe you could find a friend who could let you use a few shelves in a spare room? An occasional beer perhaps?

Space is not the issue, even though it occupies an entire wall, it is that it is time to make life simpler.

I think success is a very personal thing. Some sellers have good sales with relatively few listings, others have listed thousands to get good sales. If you want to go full time as a stamp dealer (as I am now) then sales on Ebid are relative to your listing ability. Success can be measured in so many ways. I'm still working though a lot of my late fathers stock, though my more modern listings are my own duplicates (I will always be a collector first!). I sell enough to maintain my hobby plus give me a few quid towards my bills, I might need more sales (who doesn't?) but this platform is definitely one of the best, when you compare costs to profit. Good luck to all my fellow eBid sellers, stamps and other categories, I've seen some come and seen some go, but 10 years on here has taught me that patience is definitely a virtue!
    All the best,
    John
