Excellent post!
Excellent post!
Hope somebody at eBid is reading it!
I did not read it all as it was quite long.
But well said.
Ebid could start slowly, even in specialist magazines, cars, sewing, craft etc.
And as you build up slowly.
But i still think the key to it is dropping the membership fee to zero and putting up fvf fees to 5% for all new members.
That would give much more new members, more sales, and more cashflow with which to advertise.
As I explained in my series no 4....
Ebid are kind of locked in with the present members with 2% fvf fees.
Also ebid really needs an api, just think if we all had a facebook store front showing our eBid listings there. The darkside has had that on facebook for a long time.

Rokin, Thats a great post and exactly what i was trying to say, advertise in papers, on Smooth FM etc, it's got to have an upturn hasnt it???
The ONLY reason Ebid wouldnt do this is cos they are scared to fail maybe, hells bells guys come on, There are enough sellers on here who would applaude an advertising campaign, and the those sellers who wouldnt??? whats up with you lol

I agree with you. It is totally unfair for new members to be charged a different rate of FVF. I cannot think of anything which would discourage new members than to know that they will be charged more than existing members. I'm afraid that this is one of Julie's perennial kites which she flies at regular intervals.
