You can contribute to electing or sacking the EU rule makers through the existing democratic processes.
All European Union legislation has to be agreed by the Council of Ministers and by the European Parliament before becoming law.
The British representative on the Council of Ministers is David Cameron who was voted into office through the British Parliamentary electoral system. You have the democratic right to lobby David Cameron either direct or through your local MP on any issues regarding EU legislation.
In the European Parliament elections next month you have the opportunity to vote for the European Parliament rule maker of your choice. After the election, you also have the democractic right to lobby your local Member of the European Parliament on EU legislative issues.
For the EU democratic process to work to meet the needs of the citizens of the EU, it is necessary for citizens to be proactive and to engage with the democratic processes available to them.
The mythology that the EU is undemocratic is incorrect.
