Default How will the new EU rules affect those who sell on line?

14 days for a buyer to let you know, that they will be returning the goods.
Another 14 days after that to return the goods.
Return postage to be paid by the seller, unless he/she states in their listing, that return postage is non refundable.

I know this is in line, with what most High Street shops have to do,
but really, doesn't it make selling on line a great deal harder.

If anyone has any more information please share.
Happy to be educated, so long as it is in a nice way.

    Won't affect me.
I ignore all the rules coming from Brussels.

When I can elect or sack the rule-makers, their rules might have some legitimacy.
Until then, they are tin-pot bureaucrats exploiting their unaccountability to expand their own petty empires.

    Decent article here:

    http://www.smallbusiness.co.uk/runni...sinesses.thtml

Some of the changes, while simple, could be awkward to implement:

"Ecommerce businesses must supply a downloadable form for consumers to use to cancel contracts/initiate returns."

14 days is long enough to knit a knitting pattern - let alone scan it in
    Madelaine

4 shops for Cats Protection & Prospect Hospice
    My Postcard Shop
    BK Stamps for Philatelic listings
    & Yarnalong for craft patterns
    and
Lotzabitz -anything that doesn't belong in one of the other shops.

You can contribute to electing or sacking the EU rule makers through the existing democratic processes.

All European Union legislation has to be agreed by the Council of Ministers and by the European Parliament before becoming law.

The British representative on the Council of Ministers is David Cameron who was voted into office through the British Parliamentary electoral system. You have the democratic right to lobby David Cameron either direct or through your local MP on any issues regarding EU legislation.

In the European Parliament elections next month you have the opportunity to vote for the European Parliament rule maker of your choice. After the election, you also have the democractic right to lobby your local Member of the European Parliament on EU legislative issues.

For the EU democratic process to work to meet the needs of the citizens of the EU, it is necessary for citizens to be proactive and to engage with the democratic processes available to them.

The mythology that the EU is undemocratic is incorrect.

Nonsense. You are a citizen of the EU, just as you are a citizen of the world.

I don't doubt that you are technically correct.

However, the laws that come out of the European court are enacted by unelected, and often unqualified, people. And they affect us greatly.
The level of David Cameron's effectiveness can easily be seen by the results of his efforts to change things like the CAP, Human rights, immigration, and business red tape - nil.

How can I get rid of Mr Von Rompuy? I didn't vote for him in the first place, but he somehow got the job.

Incidentally, I am not anti-Europe. I holiday there, all over, and enjoy the culture and people (except the French, of course), and the different way of life. I like being part of a group of peoples who share common values and experiences, and we are very inter-linked by history..

I just don't want them telling me how to live.
