I wouldn't be worried Silver Trader it means less choice over there and more of a choice here which can only be a good thing for bringing in the buyers ! April turned out to be my second best month ever on eBid (29 sales - 25 ordinary and 4 charity) and I've already had three sales for May so things are looking up.
    Hi Cornishmaid,
Have just seen your Feature Board on Pinterest - looks great! Every little helps - hope it does, well done and full marks to eBid!

Yes I have thanks. eBid were kind enough to do that for me at the same time as featuring my pottery store on the eBid blog. You should write a blerb and ask them to feature one of your stores pastime, you have some lovely items.

Numbers in the U.K may be going up, but in the U.S they keep falling.

3,183,303 auctions running in 13,691 categories.

I've been seeing that too. Wish I could say I was doing my part to keep the numbers up there but alas it is little league season.

P.S. Haley, did you take part in free comic book day today? I went for the first time ever because my daughter's softball was rained out. it was fun.

    Hello all,

I have been a low volume seller in the USA for a number years on eBay but have decided to move many of my listings to eBid. Recently, eBay decided to take away the ability to list in many categories without being charged a listing fee. One of my big categories is Toys and Trains under Collectables. The minimum fee now is 30 cents per listing. Each time a fixed price Good-Til-Cancelled listing renews every 30 days, it means another 30 cent charge to my account. Also final value fees are no bargain any more either. Auction listings are still free to list, but I rarely use them on eBay; I find eBay fixed price worked best for me.

My eBid account originally cost me nothing but recently I switched to a Seller+ Lifetime account for a one time cost of $49. Now my max charges for Gallery type listings will only be 2% of the final value. No Listing, Reserve or Buy Now fees. I am not abandoning eBay altogether, I may use some of their categories which are still free of listing fees. But eventually if eBid works out the way I expect it too, I will switch completely.

eBid does not yet have the same following as eBay by any stretch of the imagination but it is growing. Also eBid's response time to issues has been almost instant.

There now, I have whined enough, but hope I have given forum members some food for thought. It is time to get back to my trains.

    Best regards to all.

I posted some comments on ebay forum at the weekend (until the mod started editing them, so I thought I had better lie low for a while!!)
There are a lot of sellers unhappy with the latest changes and were thinking of moving to ebid. As usual, the ebayers were telling them they were wasting their time but I did point out that they shouldn't expect instant results and only by not giving up will ebid become what they want it to be.

So, anyone moving here, dont put all your eggs into this basket, read up on all the good advice on the forums, buy all the ebid merchandise with your buddy points and hand out to all your friends, family and any stranger you pass in the street, and be patient.
