What is this fishing stuff called?

They look like "quiver tips", sensitive ends of rods you can use when detecting bites on your bait, they move when the bait is tugged.

The first lot are quiver tips; but they may well be used for pole fishing rather than rod & reel.
Having said that, I am more of a sea fishing man.
