Default America the Beautiful - Thoughts of...............

With the July 4th Holiday approaching, I think of a few things that I appreciate about USA.

Some of the things that come to mind are freedom. I know some may say no such thing; but I feel a sense of freedom, so for me there is such a thing.

I also appreciate the diversity of the USA. If only looking at the State of New York, one can get a sense of every nation on the face of the earth having it's very own turf there. I have seen this up close and have viewed it in awe. Looking at the rich diversity from state to state; if traveling across country, one almost gets a sense that you are traveling through different nations.

There is diversity among nationalities, races, creeds, colors, languages, ethnicities, religions, cultures, values, etc. These are just a few things that I appreciate about the USA. It must be appreciated also by many who come from many nations, as they seem willing to suffer great adversity, including loss of life to enter the USA.

All the Americans I have met have been enthusiastic people with a joy for life. This has also been the experience, I think, of my children - two of whom have worked over there.

For Poppa: You also have a better class of redneck.

Thank you Poppa! I always value your opinion. Have never visited Georgia, but I found this interesting link on the history of Commerce:

Yes, I realized some years ago, that Americans tend to have a sort of child-like enthusiasm, no matter their age. Ironically, never thought about it until I lived near Oxford, England, in a small country town. I was always amazed at the proper behavior and maturity levels of the children I met there. And I would chuckle about the child-like enthusiasm of most Americans. We were a military family, but we chose not to live on Base. My son was born in Oxford. All of the military people I met referred to the USA as "The World." I loved our stay over there.

Agree. I enjoy the enthusiasm of the place, and the forward thinking of a lot of the people. I admire the Constitution, the way the government is set up (not always how it is run), and I am proud of the cohesiveness that is displayed as the spirit of patriotism.

Ditto this, though I also admire the British immensely, as well as the Canadians and the Australians. I guess I'm just a diversity ho, LOL.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Another thing I appreciate about the USA is that it is a land of opportunity. It is available no matter how poor a person may be, or where they started out from. Each person has the freedom to choose what they do in any set of circumstances.

For example if you gave 2 people a lemon, one could sit around complaining about how sour it is, and it is just making them more sour about their current finances. Give a lemon to another person, and they make lemonade. Sell the lemonade, reinvest the profits, and continue this process until making enough to open a lemonade shop. Eventually earning enough to buy their home, and expand to a storefront operation.
