When my tablet browser crashes (as it often does) why do I have to answer 'Yes Please' to the query as to whether I want my tabs restoring when I restart it. I shouldn't have to say 'please' to get something fixed that I didn't break.

True, but your browser doesn't "know" that it was closed as a result of a crash. It's just "aware" that it was closed down with tabs still open and is trying to be as helpful as it is permitted to be.
