Default More Birds this morning! :)

Fair dinkum' - it's like something out of a Hitchcock movie 'round here.

Outside my bedroom window this morn'
About 12 Corellas manicuring my excuse for a lawn.

Please forgive the pix taken thru fly mesh screen.

Great galas Old! Looks like you need a drop of water on that lawn, cobber!
You should see our garden early morn ..... flocks of starlings, sparrows - the odd wood pigeon or ring necked dove or two and Mr Mrs Blackbird, who own the place and express their annoyance at the intruders very loudly.
Sadly, the varmints eat everything in sight - (especially young shoots and yellow flowers, all the ripe fruits and berries) - we have given up trying to grow a lot of things.
We even had to move a tub of newly planted flowers (Begonias, Impatiens, Lobelia etc) as the rogues kept uprooting them all.
We thought it could have been a cat at first, scratching up the compost and plants - then we caught the blackbirds red handed - no sorry - red beaked lol!!!

Yes, we're in a bit of a drought situation ATM, & there's no way I'm wasting good drinking water on grass/weeds!
We rely partly on rain tank water here & the cost of town treated water is very high.
Same here as far as planting anything goes, it soon disappears.
Haven't seen a sparrow in years - I think the Indian minors wiped them out.
Either that or the cane toads

Plenty of birds around here - judging by the crap all over my car. Have to wash it off daily or risk it burning the paint. I think they use the gap between my house and next(which is also my driveway) as a bomb run.

Worst of it is...I am probably feeding them what they are dumping on my car. There's gratitude for you.

    LOL! Ya gotta love birds.

Wow, Old, those are some impressive birds! They look quite large, are they? Wish I saw more birds around here, though I did spy a pileated woodpecker yesterday morning on our doggy walk, right at the base of a tree and close enough to touch, it was amazing. Even stranger it didn't fly off when it spotted us, just kept walking around the tree, tapping for insects, (needless to say the birds are not going hungry these days)...

Best wishes for many sales to all,

And all over my car as well.

We've had loads of birds in our garden throughout spring and summer - just as I had thought that the sparrows and starlings had disappeared from our area.

One morning I had sparrows, starlings, magpies, pigeons, blackbirds and gulls, all coming in to feed at the same time.
It was the first time I've had gulls in the garden ...

Just Googled corella, I thought they looked like cockatoos and according to Wiki they are. IMHO they're really pretty birds, they cost a fortune in pet stores around here, it must be nice to just have them around all over the place.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Corellas are about half the size of a sulphur crested Cockatoo & Galahs about half that of a Corella. They are all related.
I have them all 'round here, plus other parrots also, including the Pale Headed Rosella (very pretty bird)

Speaking of birds; saw the strangest sight. A cat was strolling along slowly outside, and 2 birds were flying over top of it, also slowly, tweeting, squawking loudly, almost sounded like they were conversing. The birds were almost close enough to the cat, that they could have sat on the cat's back. The cat paid them absolutely no attention, and continued strolling along. Would this be considered normal? Seemed quite weird to me.

Probably trying to distract the cat from their nest/chicks.
