Changing Paypal address to an overseas address temporarily

anybody able to assist ?

i want to buy some items from a USA based lister and it states shipping to usa only, which country i will be visiting.

i have been told by the seller to change the delivery address in paypal to usa but cant see the option to do that.

however as i have bought and paid for non auction items with paypal i do have a friends usa address listed in paypal as one of my ship to addresses but cant see how to use that address on auction purchases as it seems to default to my uk address,

paypal's suggested work around is to open an account in the other country but when i tried to open an account on paypal and choose usa as my location it still defaulted to looking for a uk address presumably because of my isp.

anyone got any ideas that will actually work !

I just had a look and tried to add an address in Germany. I haven't been able to - only another UK address

Don't change your address - just put a message in with your payment for dispatch to your friend's US address- and back this up via the ASL [so that it's on record] and by email..

I've used this method twice with eBid sellers in Canada & Australia for birthday presents with no problem.

I have more or less done the same thing. I contacted the UK seller first, before purchasing, and explained my intentions about shipping item to a UK address and not to me as these were gifts for family and friends that I have in the UK. This also saved me on shipping costs as I only had to pay the UK prices. Had no problem at all, everything went smoothly.
