Thread: Question about Blackball

  1. #1

    Default Question about Blackball

Only after searching the forums extensively did I find the information I needed to remove bids and Q&A entries from a listing. Those of you experienced eBidders who contributed to those conversations have my sincerest gratitude for clearing that up for me (though it would be nice for eBid to provide those answers in the FAQs).

From what I understand, the Blackball option is basically a setting to prevent listed users from interacting with my listings. If I Blackball a user, does that setting in anyway appear on the user's profile? I assumed only negative feedback accomplished this, but I wanted to be sure first.

    Many thanks,
    OutreachSupply

No info is given on a members profile to say they have been blackballed by another member. The only way the member you blackballed would find out is if they tried to place a bid/buy from your listings.

Thanks for the quick reply, Gill. A good day to you from across the pond!

I expected that was the case, but I wanted to be sure before I might accidentally shock a new user while deleting her bid and questions. Perhaps I do not typify the common internet consumer, but I try to read the Terms and Conditions of any kind of website or vendor from whom I purchase online. The number of people requesting bid cancellations or otherwise not following simple listing instructions seems to have grown lately. It is irritating, but I suppose I should expect impatience and fickleness from the internet by now.

A long while ago I had a buyer who did buy a lot of stamps from me, paid up and there were no problems with the deal.
Then he came back for more but wouldn't pay, wouldn't answer emails etc, so those items went back on sale ( after quite a while as you never know if ther is a problem at the buyers end), I did try to give them benefit of the doubt but when it happened again sometime later I had had enuf of being messed about and eventually blackballed him. Not something I did lightly but I was fed up of being messed about.

I don't think it appears anywhere other than your own blackball list

    Cheers Alan
