    This will confuse my mother even more, she is struggling with dementia and often asks me if new £1 are 'real' or not. Two different patterns will get her into a right mess.

    BTW start looking out for the Mint Error, I'm sure there will be one as the mint will want to get them into circulation as quick as possible and the public queing at banks to get hold of them to check always helps a bit.
