Pay Pal has done me well.
I do not abuse it, neither do my customers.
I'll abide by it's rules and if I don't like them I'll leave.
They still continue a desire for it.
I do hear alot of people are dropping paypal due to their new policy:
6-Month PayPal Purchase Protection:
PayPal's new protection policy launched on Tuesday, but it extends far beyond eBay. Any seller who uses PayPal to process payments on any venue may be held liable to buyer claims for 6 months after the purchase date. buyers can dispute a transaction 6 months after making a purchase paid with PayPal on eBay, Etsy, or any other venue. Online sellers are calling it the PayPal 6-month rental program, fearing that shoppers will abuse the policy.
I just added Stripe to my other selling venue. I wish ebid would let us link our Stripe account here as well.
I think Stripe is close to the PP fees, but I wonder if it is as restrictive. I began reading and will continue tonight when I get home.
Also: Does anyone know if it is legal (USA) to accept a Gift Card as Trading? Either a National Chain, online store, coffee shop or Visa Gift Card? I haven't seen these things accepted as of yet, and wondered.
Thank you in advance. Always looking for alternatives.
I have been looking at other venues and they are adding Stripe Payment along with Paypal.
I am signing up for Stripe. There is not much of a difference from Paypal fees, they just don't have a holding account for your monies.

How do gift cards work?
Not being a brick & morter, How would i accept them?
How would i know if there was actually any money on one?
Is it posable to turn one into cash instead of product?
We make a short list of what we would accept: Sears, JC Penney, Walmart, Wegmans, Big Basket, Visa Gift Card, Amazon, whatever is nationally mutual (I'm speaking here of buyers from The USA) then, have them scanned to check that they are indeed loaded with the correct trading amount. After that, we ship. It's not the speediest thing, but it's the beginning of a pregnant idea. And it's good to brainstorm here so we can try to move away from The PayPal Rental Program. I'm not trying to knock PP, but 6 months and all the Big Brother garbage has them wielding power and control rather than fair and honest and reasonable terms. They get money when we sell - I don't remember telling them they could run my business.
AMEN to that.
And doubble for feebay.
I never really objected to bay/pal's fees.
I figured it was fair for the protection offered, as opposed to doing mail-order on my own.
But they've done a flip-flop. Who's protecting me from them?
Like a bad mobster movie, one foot in the door - now they own my business.
To eBID vetrans, i appoligize for the rant.

About gift cards:
Do the stores give change in cash, or is the change left on the card?
