It's the weekend (which is part of my theory on the hows and whys of thread deletions).
The problem is that should admin leave a reason for why a thread was deleted it opens a new can of worms where people state whether they agree with the reason, others ask what the thread was about, rumour and poor memory creates inappropriate posts and folks then demand that admin come back and debate the point. The whole mess goes round and round with more people getting swept up into it, wasting time and effort for weeks. Or, admin delete the thread, people moan about it for a day or two and then everyone moves on.
Yes, it sucks not to know.
But the alternative sucks more.
See how you felt the need to post saying that you disagreed? The same thing would happen even if admin sent PM's.
I've seen 11 years of discussions on here and time after time people refuse to accept admin's decisions and feel the need to post about them. From admin's PoV it's a no win situation. Staying quiet is the closest they can get.
