Default Defer fee payment to maximise ebid revenue

I really wish I could pay much more in ebid fees!!. No, I don't want them increasing, I just want to sell much more here so that my monthly fees to ebid are much larger - but still the same low percentage :-)

But for some reason my sales have been very slow, in fact I have sold nothing for several months. Then last week I sold a few. This resulted in my fees for October being the grand total of 45p !!

So now it is the 1st November and my monthly statement arrives - 45p to pay - highlighted in pink, so got to pay. No problem I pay immediately.

But as a seller and user of PayPal I know that PayPal will take about 21p of that for their fees. So I pay ebid for their wonderful service and PayPal take 50% of it.

I sell on another site (not the "dark side" - that's another matter), but on this third site they defer their fees until it reaches £10. So they get (almost) the full benefit of the fees.

On ebid there is an orange highlight on the fees statement, so there is a deferment option, it just seems to be set too low.

I assume eBid would use an account which is set up to take Micro Payments

    ie 5% plus 5p

    Which by my calculations is 3p + 5p = 8p and not 21p

eBid's finances are a matter for eBid. They have clearly determined the level of deferment they are happy with. I would doubt the PayPal fees incurred are the only consideration on setting that level.

If they waited until people owed £10 there would be very few sellers who ever got billed. I agree it is a bit too low though. Perhaps it used to be higher but sellers were leaving before their fees ever reached that level and Ebid were never getting paid.

You beat me this month - my bill was 40p

To help eBid why not pay from your bank account. Mine are taken out automatically with no fees for eBid to pay.
