  1. #1

Default Could Someone Please Help Me ID This Nutcracker Candleholder???

...What kind of candleholder is this??? This beautiful Nutcracker candleholder is made of clay/porcelain. It appears to be hand painted. It is 15 inches tall and has a metal spring/cylinder in the bottom that can be removed, there is nothing inside of the cylinder.

I have never seen a candleholder like this. It is beautiful and I would like to sell it here on Ebid...Your help would be appreciated!!!

With the tube up the center, it looks like a lamp base to me.
Otherwise, what's the use of the tube or spring loaded whatsis?

???...Your guess would be as good as mine. I am going to list this candleholder according to the little bit of information that I have found and I am hoping that maybe someone will know more about it and be willing to purchase it because it is a beautiful Nutcracker candleholder that would probably be best used for display especially during the holiday season...

I think that a tapered candle would be "loaded" inside (the sprung section ie from underneath)
followed by the tube..... so that only the flame at the top of the candle would be visible when burning.
The tube, being spring loaded, ensures the candle is constantly moving upwards as it burns away....
thus leaving the flame always where it should be until the candle expires?
