Was the time not reduced as one week was felt to be too long and not much happened in the way of bidding during the last 3 days or so? Whatever suits everyone else however....

Yes you are quite right it was Cats. I think at this time of year a lot of people are busy and have Christmas stuff to start thinking about. Personally I would prefer the normal length of time but I will go along with whatever is decided.

Yes it was, but I thought just for this month only, because it is the last one of the year, we could have an extended 2 days one, because it's Christmas coming up, perhaps the extra 2 days might bring in just a tad more.

OK, but the use of the term Auction in part one of the rules doesn't really fit then - if they don't have to be pure auctions. That reminiscent of eBid using Auction for everything when they really meant Listing.

And shouldn't the lead category be Charity Listings rather than Charity Auctions?

Are reserves and BuyNow now allowed for entries not in the competition? I thought all YDC listings had to be pure auctions.

As my listing is the only BIN, I'm assuming you're referring to that - the reason I changed it from an auction was to hopefully raise a bit more cash for the Guide Dogs U.K. It has been running for most of November and I was not aware of breaking any YDC rules as it is not expected to be an entry into the competition.

Not at all. The query arose from the rules given in post #1. I was always under the belief that all YDC listings had to be pure auctions. The information in my KB reflected that belief; now corrected.

Good afternoon YDC'ers!

I think some good points have been raised on the run up to YDC 127.

So, for this month only, I will accept listing run times of 4,5,6 or 7 days when deciding the competition "winner".
All other competition rules will remain the same.

Maybe it would be good idea to "brainstorm" YDC early in the New Year .... to keep YDC up to date & relevant.

Now I must try & find my camera (I know it's around here somewhere).
