Home page look different?

The home page (the first page you see on ebid.net) has not changed. The change is to the page you see when you click onto the button which takes you to your country's site.

I like the new page. Better than the carousel, IMHO.

From the home page, any international member can see the changes by clicking their country flag.

The new page certainly doesn't look very interesting or inviting.

I am more concerned though with the amount of blank space on our personal home pages and listing pages. I don't remember that always being the case. Do I need to do some work on my pages?

I actually like the layout a lot. Very clean and easier access to categories.

The first page anyone lands on when searching the internet is the, YES, this looks interesting and so they venture further into the site
OR
it's a NO, this is not for me - there's nothing I want here on the page and so they click away from the site.

eBid have gone from the, hmmm, maybe I'll venture further into the site by clicking one or two cats I'll be interested in

totally boring, a list of cats (very boring), nothing to keep the perspective buyers/sellers interested. The page just does not 'sing' for want of a better word/description.

The front page needs pics/colour and words to entice perspective buyers - preferably to all of us currently trying sell on eBid. You have the sellers in certain cats that do well selling, but unless eBid can get the buyers for the majority/all cats then just changing the front page will not achieve what you are after.

the front page does have colour pics underneath the cats are 10 pics these ten pics are cat related, the pics rotate every x mins with ten live listings from the cat thats highlighted,

go to the front page see the cat highlighted and the ten related pics, go back in ten mins and see the next cat highlighted with a fresh set of pics, these pics are of live listings ,

thats much better than rotating boxes that meant very little

now a buyer at a glance can see all the cats, plus the highlighted cat has ten examples of live listings in colour pics, that rotate x mins , that gives every one whos listing a chance to pop up on the front page in every cat on a rotation x mins

i say x mins because i dont know the exact time but it is mins

i just clicked on the home page 10 times with a few seconds between each refresh a new highlighted cat came up each time each with colour pics

The category list looks unbalanced, it needs one more top level category to balance it up, something like...

I love it !

You can see all the cats and the costs etc.

It seems a lot cleaner.

Home page is indeed awful to my eyes too.
