    Default Plugging auctions

If a member from the UK can't see a US sellers listings from a 'Plug your Auctions' thread, when they click on the link in the post, then what's the point of UK members being able to see the plug in the forum?

I'm sure US members have this problem too so what is the answer?

If, and when, they have items for sale to that country, then they will show. Otherwise you have to go to the specific country site for that seller.. Sometimes I do that, as I have mail delivered in both the US and the UK...so I don't mind knowing that JoeUSA is online selling.

Not sure it's a big issue, as at the least, it's nice to get to know the names of some of the sellers abroad and to chat.

To give a answer to your question.......not sure what can be done by eBid to change that, as I believe the forums are a purchased, add-on feature to the site, so they couldn't do much for changes.

Nah, that's the meaning of life, the universe and everything.

Code 42 is also used on TOS discussion boards when a poster accidentally posts in their 'wrong' name.

ETA - it's very easy to click on the link for US site on Sellers page, as I know I won't pay what it costs for Postage to UK I rarely click on it.

    They are different sites.
Have you noticed that you have to login to the forum seperatly?
    This is http://www.ebid.net/forums
    Your listings are on http://uk.ebid.net
    My listings are on http://us.ebid.net

If there is a division in the forums, i suspect it is by language.
    Are there any Austrailians here?

Yes....Australians, sometimes people from China or New Zealand pop onto the forums....used to have a lady from France here, and we've had people from Sweden and Spain and Portugal, as well as Italy chat. Yes, seems most of the chats are English, but sometimes other languages sneak into the conversation.

If everyone listed everything to be sold to all countries, there wouldn't be the issue Gill raised. As that will likely never happen, I don't know of a solution to her issue.

Personally, the point of the forums is to share opinions, wherever you live, more than sell to the forum members (who are limited in number). So, I think the idea of having everyone on the forums is great. I suspect it would be hard to tweak the forums to take out the link of any person who doesn't sell to the country of the reader.....and if that happened, I'd be sad because, as I said, I look at the US and CA sites and don't want to be prevented from seeing those just because of where I live.

And, ditto goes for removing or blocking the plugs of people who don't list to the country of the reader. A case of some people like it, some people don't. If those plugs were removed, it would not be fair to those who might want to see them, but couldn't.

I have pinned a few US listings on Pinterest when I have seen them on the plugs as I think most of the pinterest users are in US. I may not be able to buy the item myself but every eBid sale helps all of us.
