Default City Link has gone into Administration

One of the UK's biggest parcel delivery groups collapsed into administration on Christmas Eve

Frankly I am not surprised. Booked a collection on the 18th with them through Parcel2Go for collection on the 19th. They did not collect so I re-booked for Monday 22nd. Again a no show so re-booked for the 23rd and to make sure I tracked down a phone number and called on the Tuesday morning to confirm the details and confirm that the driver had my phone number. Promised that the parcel would be collected that day. Still no collection at 5pm so phoned again. Told they had contacted the driver and assured that the collection would take place but the driver was running late. Surprise surprise but the driver did not turn up and there was no chance of a delivery before Christmas. Phoned up and had several excuses including they tried the house with a black door, had a look Wednesday when I went out and there are none on the street, they could not find the address and the address was wrong were the excuses for the three non collections. When I pointed out that there are only seventeen addresses on my postcode and they are all on the one street, plus the fact that it was twice confirmed that the driver had my number if there was a problem the conversation turned to grovelling apology. They are second worse courier company after parcel Monkey (another story). Their ineptitude did cost me a £139 sale but that might be a blessing in disguise now as if they had collected on the 24th for delivery after Christmas it would now be in their depot with the risk of me losing out totally.

I think they could at least return the parcels, in fact they should not have collected them and taken peoples money in the first place as they would have known it was going to happen days before when the bank started to put the boot in. sorry for anyone who has to go chasing and picking up their parcels and sorry for the people who have lost their jobs on Christmas eve.

Not only the fact that city link are now in administration, but Inpost will be effected too as they use (or used) city link for the parcel delivery.
