Is it possible to challenge either a US or Swiss-based Company's policies in a UK Court? Becoming a member of either Company means an acceptance of their policies anyway - and the choice is to accept their constant changes or leave?

And doesn't the 6 month returns apply to Business Sellers only? (which the OP is not).

there is a law or several laws that acts to safe guard against unfair conditions i last used them when researching how to beat unfair carparking conditions and i won! i will find the relevant acts after this post

Fascinating. It would be interesting to know just what UK Laws exist to protect Online Sellers/Buyers against International "unfairness" and why such "unfairness" has not yet been challenged.....

I always think of the Golden Rule when considering such complexities: namely, him with the gold makes the rule.

I think I'd rather spend my time selling via whatever is available where I want to than contemplating challenging any venue in a Court of Law.

terms in the consumer contracts act regulations 1999
shedule 2-2 (10) (e) section 5 (1)

A contractual term which has not been individually negotiated shall be regarded as unfair if contary to the requirement of good faith it causes a significant imbalance in the parties rights and obligations arising under the contract to the detriment of the consumer.

if a foreign firm is acting illegally in the uk the uk can stop it acting illegally here it cant stop it acting illegally elsewere ,

why hasent anyone taken on feebay because were a nation of all right jacks you need a consortium of people with money to take on a very big business

Ebay could be challenged in European Court because its practice of charging 10% for postage it doesn't provide is illegal under European competition laws.

It doesn't apply this charge to all its European clones. Since it is based in Lichtenstein, it is answerable to European Community law.
