Dropshippers don't own items they offer for sell and even big firms like Argos dropship some of the items in their catalogues

As most, if not all, your items are offered with second class, unsigned for, post you will not be covered by PayPal, so doesn't matter what address you send to.

Items do not have to be signed for unless the value is $250.00 or more, it doesn't matter if it is posted 2nd class or 1st class as long as you add tracking to the item & upload the tracking number.

Please tell me, how do you get a tracking number for ordinary 1st / 2nd class post? As far as I know the only thing you can obtain from the Royal Mail / Post Office is a certificate of posting - which does not actually prove anything much.

You are correct the Signed For option is a tracking service when operated properly. Unfortunately quite often it is not and is therefore a complete rip-off.

From what my contacts at the Royal Mail tell me the letter is scanned when you pass it over the counter; the bit you do not see is that it goes in with the normal mail where it stays. The idea is that the item gets plucked out by the person doing "the walk" at the destination sorting office and a signature is obtained. Unfortunately this does not always happen, and sometimes the walk person signs for it themselves or leaves it on a step in the open where it could be nicked.

The only way of ensuring delivery is to pay the extortionate Special Delivery charges where each person that handles the item has to sign for it.

    Sid: thanks for that info.
