Aye lad, I always had me Grundig tape recorder ready on Sundays to record all me favourite songs.
Trouble was, me dad wouldn't get out of his chair - he ruined many recordings by either coughing or farting ......
The bleep DJ would either cut short or talk over the beginning and or end of the song you wanted to record...
Wonder if that's why I hardly ever listen to any radio station or any music now...

I used to hate Sunday radio as a kid - so depressing. Two Way Family Favourites, Jimmy Clitheroe, Sing Something Simple, Billy Cotton Band Show, etc. There must have been more suicides on a Sunday back then than on any other day.
We only listened to the radio Saturday night for a good night story program after the weekly bath
