Default New here - Does eBid have a deal with shippers like Ebay does?

Just in the process of migrating here from Ebay (hate that place). I'm almost ready to start listing my stuff but I have a question before I begin: Does eBid have a deal with shippers like USPS/UPS/FedEx where discounts are available if you ship through eBid? That was the one thing I liked about Ebay because I could list something and not have to charge an arm and a leg to ship it because of the discounted shipping available if you shipped using Ebay's shipping options. If I had to take it to the post office to ship it, it would inevitably cost much more and I would have to adjust my shipping accordingly.

Is it part of the process here at eBid to list it, sell it, and ship it (print the shipping label) exclusively through eBid? Or do I have to ship it elsewhere and charge more for shipping?

Thanks in advance for anyone helping out a newbie.

BTW, I looked for this information in the Help section extensively before I posted this but could not find an answer...

Short answer is,no.eBid do not get involved in the transaction at all.

Although not specific the relevant points are....
    "eBid is only a Venue.
Our site acts as the venue for sellers to conduct sales and for bidders to buy, offer or bid on sellers' listings. We are not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers.

There is no agency, partnership, joint venture, employee-employer or franchisor-franchisee relationship between eBid and any User of the service."

Thanks, that will greatly impact what I charge for shipping. What would normally have cost $2.09 to ship First Class through Ebay, cost almost $4 when I had to ship it from the post office, not to mention the additional time it took standing in line at the post office (lame branch).

That is information I needed, thank you for responding!

What kind of luck do you have with using Paypal to pay for shipping and printing shipping labels? Don't they have shipping discounts just like Ebay?

    Welcome to eBid.

eBid does not have integrated shipping.

I only use USPS for shipping, so can't answer for UPS and FedEx.

The discounts that other sites "offer" for USPS shipping are not their discounts. They are USPS discounts offered for purchasing postage on line. You will receive these same discounts if you us PayPal or USPS site to print shipping labels.

    Wishing you much success here.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am genuinely interested in finding out as much as I can before I start listing my stuff here. I've been trying to find an alternative auction site with enough traffic and a little less greedy, I hope I've found that site.

Also sorry I mentioned "the other place", did I offend you?

    Ooops.

Thanks everyone who offered information I can use. Much appreciated.

There are other shipping options but there is an initial charge to use them.

USPS do offer reduced shipping prices if you purchase through them online. It costs more at the counter.

If you are Seller+, shipping is integrated. Just click on the link in your ASL and it takes you to your PayPal account (PayPal btw is owned or was owned by eBay). Print out your shipping label through PayPal and automatically get the USPS online discount pricing. No initial fees or charges to use them. Just take the package and drop it off at your local Post Office.

As someone else mentioned, eBay does not offer shipping discounts, It is the shippers themselves that offer online discounts. eBay actually charges the seller a fee to use their integrated shipping. They charge a percentage of the shipping fee.

You can purchase directly online from various shippers too like USPS and get the discount but more of a hassle for me since the USPS shipping label software is not compatible with Apple.
