    Angry double listings saga again!

I have just relisted 27 listings and i thought that i recognised the last listing (i relisted it yesterday or maybe the day before) so after relisting this particular listing i went to look just to make certain i had not relisted it twice and annoyingly there were 2 separate listings (i only have one of that item)

So now i am worried that the other 27 listings have also been relisted twice, i cannot remember any of them because i only noticed the last listing and i have deleted the duplicate.

Back to square one and not happy at all looks like i will have to end all my listings yet again to eradicate duplicate listings!
I will now have to close my store again!!!

These are just a few ive found that have relisted twice

Manual re-listing is a pain and should be avoided. I assume you use auto repost set to 10 when you first list or relist. All you need to do is, rather than let your auto reposts run out, reset them every now and again to 10 with Bulk Edit.

I do 20 day listings with 10 reposts. Therefore they will last 200 days. Every 6 months (or a little earlier just in case) I do a Bulk Edit to reset them all to 10 reposts. Incidentally in Bulk Edit if you don't set any criteria on the first screen and press "Search Listings" it will select all of your listings.

Beware in the Bulk Edit do NOT set the number of days else all you listings will in future end at the same time!

    example of my problem

This is really bad news because buyers are purchasing items that have already sold. i dont understand how the same item can relist twice how is that possible?

There is an easier way if you don't have too many to look for [it's what I do when checking my listings]

Within each store category, list them alphabetically using the 'Sort/Listing title low ->High' option [far right of store banner]
Any duplicates will soon show up.

Haven't had a problems recently - but this is what I do at least once a week:

    1. Export listings into a spreadsheet.

    2. Delete all the columns apart from the Title column.

    3. Insert a new row somewhere and duplicate a listing yourself (this is your test to make sure you have done it right!)

    4. So with the all the titles in a list in column A - do a sort A-Z

    5. In column B enter the formula =IF(A1=A2;1;0)

    6. Highlight column B and paste that formula into the whole of the column where it corresponds with data in column A.

    7. Select all of column B data - copy - select all of the column B data, then paste special - and just the numbers are needed so uncheck everything else (this gets rid of the formula).

    8. Then just sort column B (extending to include A) by Z to A and every title with a 1 (which appears at the top of the column B is a duplicate) if you have 0 duplicates then you have done the process wrong if you did as said in 3.

That may sound a bit complicated but takes about 2 minutes once you know what you are doing.

I have never (knowingly?) had this problem and with nearly 10,000 listing I hope I never do get it! I had a quick look at 2 of your examples and they were clearly started at different times/dates. I assume you have since changed them to RUS which is not a good idea as they will now be listed at the back end of the category. I can't see how eBid system could have started them (ie duplicated them) with different dates/times, are you sure you haven't re-listed them manually twice? Most odd.

How can i possibly relist the same item twice? it dosent make sense to me. Once i have relisted an item it shouldnt come up for relisting again untill it has finished its listing cycle.

Im having a break from ebid for a few days i will come back and try to sort it out in a few days.

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice.

I don't think there is anything in the system that stops you re-posting a listing more than once. For example if you go to your "Listing I Ran" it will show whether you have relisted it and when but it doesn't stop you doing it again/

You can repost a closed listing as many times as you like (as long as you follow our duplicate listing rules)

We added specific information about a closed listing's reposted status on the closed listing details page as some users were losing track of what they had and had not reposted. This has helped answer quite a few questions since it was added.

Some users user mass repost (checkboxes in "Listings I Ran" section) together with the delete option to remove any reposted listings from their "Listings I Ran" section.
